Gamecompressed - Paradise Cracked is the story of a world run by a central computer that provides for every person's wants and needs. Everyone lives in paradise, or at least is told that they do, until a hacker -- named Hacker, of course -- accidentally stumbles upon secrets he doesn't understand but knows are important nonetheless. He manages to copy the data down, but shortly after he hears police sirens in the distance and must make a run for it.

The game is completely turn-based. Each member of your squad uses action points to move, attack, reload, and pick up gear. The better your ability scores, the faster and better you can use these abilities. While a turn-based game isn't bad in and of itself, this causes a few problems with Paradise Cracked. Each zone is pretty large, and trying to cross a zone to reach something on the other side is tedious. It would be much nicer if the turn-based elements of the game only came into play when the characters are in combat. This may not be in the spirit of turn-based squad games, but Paradise Cracked is as much a role-playing game as it is a strategy title.

Game Features

* Turn-based strategy with RPG elements immersing the player into the world of Hi Tech and cyberpunk, inspired by the creations of William Gibson, Philip K. Dick, and the movies "Bladerunner", "Matrix" and "Ghost in the shell".

* There are no dead-end plot branches, as well as there is no main branch. The player can stick to fulfilling the central quest or simply wander around in the universe of the future, studying her it or combat inconceivable machines.
